I’ve been working with my publisher to get Lying with the Devil: Redemption, edited and worked on. Right now, it’s simply going through the editing process, which can take up to a month of work, but each day that passes I’m growing more excited to see the finished work. At this rate, the book is estimated to be out sometime in October, which will be perfect for the spooky season that this book brings. Once it’s been out for some time, I’ll go over it with you in another post and explain some of the characters, the backstory, and explain some of the finer details that I used to come up with everything, but for now, I don’t want to spoil anything for you. Another thing to note is that Lying with the Devil’s eBook versions will be lowered in price soon, after discussing it with my publisher. I thought it would be best. The current price seems too steep, and I want this book to be thoroughly accessed to everyone for them to enjoy, especially with the second in the series coming to the market. Also! Something else to note is that Lying with the Devil’s audio-book should be coming out late April, early May at the latest. So, for those of you that prefer to listen, be on the look out for that. I’ve been working with a producer by the name of Nick for some time now, and I’m in love with his voice. He has just the amount of creepy vibe needed to bring this book to life as I want, though, if I’m being honest, it’s a little weird hearing my character’s with actual, real breathing, voices, instead of the ones I’ve come up inside my head. Hearing him voice Michael, especially, has been particularly odd.
Nick though has been nothing but a sweetheart, and I love working with him. He’s ideal to work with; he’s kind, understanding, and just as excited to be reading/voicing this book as I am to hear it. He’s done various podcasts and has a video game he’s voiced in production, but he’s always wanted to work on an audio-book.
I will be getting promotional discount codes for the audio-book once it comes out, so if you’re a reviewer, or maybe just an eager reader wanting to give it a listen, feel free to send me an email and I’ll see about mailing you a code in exchange for a review. You know, you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours, just – don’t touch my butt or anything. Let’s not make this weird.
As for what I’ve been doing?
Working on my newest book, Mr. Lonely. The way this book is headed I’m wondering if my publisher will actually accept it for publishing. The killer, Erik, is just – odd. Well, to be nice about it at least. From what I’ve been told from my beta readers, he’s the most psychotic character I’ve come up with so far. (I feel like that’s a challenge.) The things he does and how he goes about doing it, I’ve been told, make you ill; both bodily and mentally disturbed in ways that are hard to describe. One beta reader told me they had nightmares due to a particular scene, already, and I’m only the fourth chapter. Hopefully, once accepted, you’ll all be able to experience this thriller for yourselves.
All in all, things have been going well. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.
